I have a great old Martin dreadnaught, and while it's not particularly aesthetically pleasing, it is an excellent player. My other good guitar is a Gibson jumbo, also quite old. Each guitar has its own unique sound and character. I am particularly fond of the Gibson jumbo because it provides a different sound from my Martin. The Gibson doesn't have as full a sound as the Martin but it has its own wonderful qualities. If I had to choose between the two, I would keep the Martin, as it is the gold standard for acoustic guitars. However, owning a Martin has made me want something different, and that's why I cherish my Gibson jumbo.

For another player, their Epiphone J200 also demonstrated the unique abilities of a jumbo guitar. While it has a weaker volume than expected, the maple back and sides give it a distinct middle tone. Rosewood, with its tonal scooping, works better for vocals, while maple provides a stronger presence in the higher frequencies. This property makes the Epiphone J200 particularly suitable for songs with a higher tone, such as 'Walk Away Renee'.
